The musical camaraderie enjoyed by Headshell’s marquee DJ’s Idris Elba (a.k.a. DJ Driis), and DJ Shogun has leaked its brand of spinning onto the party and major event planning circuits on a national level. Playing almost every media event of significance when he’s not playing in front of a camera as one of Hollywood’s most promising talents is Idris Elba, known often times by the moniker Driis the Londoner or DJ Driis, whose British influence adds an intercontinental flair to his work (as well as an unmistakable NYC influence). Couple that with NYC’s famed mixtape specialist, DJ Shogun, who has cornered the mixtape market with his signature compilations often times laden with relevant messaging speaking to the times in which we live–this fusion of sorts has piqued the interest of premium liquor brands and companies interested in tapping into the urban market from a certain perspective.

“We get all types of calls, but a majority of interest seems to be in the areas of moderate to high-end spending power,” says Headshell manager Oronde Garrett. “This works well with our concept.
